Obituary for Lawrence Albert "Lawrie" Smith

Taken from us far too young, Lawrence "Lawrie" Albert Smith passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 25th, 2015, one month shy of his 64th birthday. Lawrie, son of Richard Smith and predeceased by his mother Helen (nee Proud) will be sadly missed by his sons Daniel (Kate), Jordan (Alicia), Tyler and daughter Jennifer. His beloved grandchildren Scarlett, Suzanne and Beau were able to send love and sing songs to their Papa shortly before he passed away. Brothers Bruce (Brenda), David (Marcie), and sister Christine (Sills) were with Lawrie during his final hours and will miss his kind, faithful and gentle soul. Lawrie will be greatly missed by nieces Tara-Leigh Pulford, Candice Sheehan, and Barbara Paul; Saige Hart, Brittany Sills, Charlotte and Stephanie Smith and nephew Gregory Smith. Lawrie was a very affectionate man, a lover of music, always loved to host the party, prepare great food‎ and engage in joyful conversation. Visitation at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 345 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the LDS Church Missionary Fund would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

"Ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life." 2 Nephi‎ 31:20

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
