Obituary for Fred Herman Carey

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in his 84th year after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara (nee Baker). Caring and loved father Tim and Greg (Janet) and dear papa of Myles and Jordan. Also Father of Jeffrey and his family. Fred will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Tom and Carol Baker and Sue Walters and their families. He will also be missed by friends and neighbours in Burlington, Simcoe and Smithville. Fred retired from Stelco after 32 years service. The family would like to thank Dr. Bender, the Smithville Family Medical Centre team, the staff in the Emergency Department and Ward C of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, also nurse Barb G. and the Palliative Care Team for their support, care and comfort during this difficult time. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the McMaster Childrens Hospital - Oncology Department.
