William (Bill) Douglas Ecclestone
In his 75th year, passed away Friday November 27th 2020 due to a two year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born June 1st 1945 in Etobicoke Ontario to William Ecclestone and Ruth Ecclestone nee McCraw. He was a graduate of The University of Windsor, and from there he eventually worked in the industrial adhesives business. William had a very successful career starting in the lab with an entry level position, and eventually worked his way up to Regional Sales Manager, and Geographical Sales Manager of Canada. He worked for the same company for over 40 years, and was always dedicated to providing for his family. During his time at the company, he was highly respected by his colleagues, and was always liked among his friends and coworkers. One of the things that we will miss most about Bill was his positive outlook on life, and his ability to make people smile. His hobbies were golfing, watching movies, spending time with family, eating out in restaurants, watching sports, and walking his dog Blossom. Bill was loyal, trustworthy, caring, funny, outgoing, loving and successful. He was an extremely reliable individual, and could be counted on to be there wherever or whenever the need arose. Over the years he has helped many friends and family. Bill is predeceased by his first wife Mary Ecclestone nee McGavin, who sadly passed away in her 40th year. Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Ecclestone nee Ploen; and their 2 children Dale and Amy, his 3 siblings Tim Ecclestone, Pete Ecclestone, and Jane Wilson. Bill’s immediate extended family included sister-in-law Katie Ecclestone, brother-in-law Don Wilson and his seven nieces and nephews; Mark Ecclestone, Sandy Tisdale, Jessica Strycharek, Kasey Wilson, Emmylou Murden, Travis Ecclestone, and Shelby Ecclestone. Bill is also remembered by Nancy’s two brothers Rick and Terry Ploen and their families. Bill was truly one of a kind “a real beauty” loved by his many friends and family, and one who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, and great times we all shared together. To honour Bill, the family is planning a celebration of life but unfortunately it will be on hold for now given the unforeseen circumstances we are presently faced with. The family is also working on creating a fund in Bill’s name directly linked to The Lewy Body Dementia Foundation, details to follow.
