Obituary for Willam "Bill" Jack Burkimsher
Passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side on May 16, 2021 at the age of 79. Loving husband and best friend of Sue (nee McFarland) for 40 years, father of Danelle Dennison (Chris), Bill Jr (Deb), John Owens (Tasha) and Jameson Owens.(predeceased) Proud Poppa of Olivia, Madeleine, Claire, Mallory, Nicholas, Matthew, Christian, Raiya and Ashton. Great Grampa of Hunter, Johnny, Hana, Beck and Nova. Also missed by his Boston Terrier, Bella Pearl who was always by his side.
Bill was the Executive Director of a trade association for 39 years for which he worked tirelessly to rise from the ashes to where it was a thriving business until his retirement. He had many interests that included horse racing, wrestling, the Toronto Raptors and his beloved Toronto Blue Jays, for which he never missed a game. Bill will always be remembered for his kind, fun loving nature, intelligence, steadfast integrity and a sense of humour second to none. Our memories of his laughter will remain in our hearts forever!
Cremation has taken place and plans for a memorial will be announced at a later date. Anyone who wishes, may donate to the Boston Terrier Rescue of Canada in Bill’s memory.
