Obituary for Walter Howard "Wally" Ramey

Walter Howard Ramey (Wally)
Peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Brant Centre, Burlington in his 93rd Year. Predeceased by his loving wife the late Betty Ramey and his former wife Joyce Ramey, the Mother of his four sons, Doug (Diane), Ted (Wendy), Tim (Dede) and Bill (Jeanie) he will also be greatly missed by his Grandchildren, Scott (Billie Jo), Geoff (Erica), Lisa (Jarrod), Jess, Jennifer (James), Daniel, Thadeus, Joyce (Bronson) and Clayton as well as his Great Grandchildren Shelby (Brenden), Ainsley(Tyrone), Caleb, McKayla, Isaac, Sophia, Jackson, Avarie, Jemma, Jeralyn, Joseph and Skyler. He was also very happy to become a Great Great Grandfather with the recent birth of Atlas. Missed by his Brother Don (Audrey), predeceased by Brother Clifford (late Kathy) Sisters, Blanche (late Ted) and Doris (late Lester). He will also be greatly missed by his step children and extended family, the late Gordie (Sue), Michael, Debbie, Roger (Kathy), Gina, Lisa and Michelle (Ross). A special Grandfather to Jake (Lisa) Kyle (Laura), Kevin, (Jenna), Mark, Shane, Bailey (Graham), Johnny and a proud Great Grandfather to Coen, Brooks and Miller. Walter will also be lovingly thought about by his many nieces, nephews and family members as well as all the members of his extended family. Wally was a dedicated professional Truck Driver for most of his life spending many years working for McGrath Transport in Burlington. In his later years he and Betty managed properties for Niagara Housing in St Catharines and enjoyed the interaction with the residents. With this job he was able to pursue his love of gardening as well as finding time to use his many talents to build and fix things. He was well known for his “McGyver” type abilities. A special thank you to Dr. C Ragonetti, Dr. J Anderson as well as all of the Nurses, PSW’s and caring staff at The Chartwell Brant Centre. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Walter would be appreciated. At Walter’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. Private family interment will be held.
