Obituary for Walter Harry Griffin Manning

Walter Harry Griffin Manning

In loving memory of Walter (used in Canada) Harry (used in the UK) who passed away peacefully on Saturday November 14th 2020 in the Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario from complications after a fall from bed at his Regency Court apartment.
He was exactly one calendar month short of his 90th birthday on the day of his death and a private cremation has been held.
Harry’s wife Mary (Mary Ann Cameron) died in 2011 and they had no children – they are survived however by relatives in England & Scotland and by precious friends in Canada.
In England his passing would be acknowledged by those that knew him, relative to his age - “he had a good innings (cricket analogy)” whereas the observation actually made in Scotland was – “at least he had a good kick of the baw (Scots vernacular for football)”.
A memorial mass will be said In St Margaret’s RC church in South Queensferry, West Lothian, Scotland. The church lies in the shadow of the World Heritage: Forth Railway Bridge and South Queensferry is Harry’s much beloved/missed home town.
