It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Violet at the Hamilton General Hospital, Hamilton, on Friday, December 13, 2019, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Karl Johnston (2015). Cherished mother of Diane Jeffery (the late Ron), Thomas, Gary, and Janice Vandehei (Kevin). Proud grammie of Vickie (Michael), Tim (Dawn), Stephanie (Ryan), Michelle, Josh, and Tiffany. Great-grammie of Taylor, Clayton, Aubrie, Dakota, and Logan.Violet will be dearly missed by her brother Fred (Ann). Predeceased by her parents William and Alice MacLeod, sister Dorothy, and brothers Orval and Doug (Treva). The family would like to thank the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital for their compassionate care of Violet in her final days. A private family service will take place. In Violet's memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
