Obituary for Velda Janine Scott (previously O'Reilly/Sofia)
Passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the age of 62 surrounded by her family. Loving mother of Hayley Sofia (Andrew), Shane (Samantha) Sofia, Hoover and Henry. Dear sister of Tracy (Malcolm) Hayes and Shane (Melanie) Scott. Cherished Aunt of James (Shelagh), Devon (Jon), and Rylie.
Special thanks to her family doctor, Doctor Kevin Voon, as well as all of the incredible staff in the ICU at Joseph Brant and Juravinski Cancer Center.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 4 - 7p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to The Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Keep on dancing, even when the music stops, and always make time for friends, laughs and a good meal.
