Peacefully at his residence with his family by his side on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Maureen Farrington (nee Lowe). Loving father of David Farrington (Sally) and Jacqueline Walton (Christopher). Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Joseph, Ainsley and Thomas. Tommy is survived by his sister Maria Knight (Albert) of Warrington, England, UK, his niece Jane and nephew Stephen. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends in the United Kingdom. Tommy was an avid golfer who played over 10 million yards with his family and many friends at Riverview Golf Club in Pelham. In 2017 Tommy celebrated 50 years of membership with the Brick and Allied Craft Union of Canada Local #1, Hamilton, ON. That same year he celebrated having lived in Canada for 50 years. Special thank you to the visiting nurses of Saint Elizz, the Palliative Care Team at McNally House and all of the doctors, nurses and staff of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. As per Tommy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 233 Elizabeth Street, Grimsby on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation and McNally House would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
