LAWSON, Susan (nee Mantell)
August 5, 1951 – August 11, 2019
Passed away at Juravinski Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Brent for 46 years. Loving mother of Ryan and Jamie, and mother-in-law of Jacqui. Adored grandmother of Olivia, Violet, and Felix. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Helen Mantell. Dear sister of Alison McConnell and Peter Mantell, sister-in-law of Debbie, and aunt of Peter, Ian, and Jason. Enjoyed wonderful friendships with Lynne, Jan, and Hanne. Susan loved walking her dog Rosie, both along the lake at LaSalle and along the paths at Hidden Valley, designing, growing and taming her garden, laughing with her pals at Borer’s Dog Park, sketching and painting with the Cornerstone artists, and taking long lunches with the ladies in wine country. Susan brought wisdom, kindness, and love into our world, and she was thrilled to watch her sons grow and reward her with three wonderful grandchildren. She will be greatly and endlessly missed. We would like to thank the Oncology Department at Joseph Brant Hospital, the Juravinski Cancer Centre, as well as the Local Integrated Health Network, CarePartners, CalaCare, and St. Elizabeth Nursing and their dedicated caregivers. Friends will be received at Smith’s Funeral Home, 485 Brant St., BURLINGTON, on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre and the Joseph Brant Oncology Department would be greatly appreciated.
