It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Ruth Johnson (nee Dunnigan) at the age of 73. She died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Sandra will be lovingly remembered by Bob, her husband of 51 years, and their children Julie (Gregg), Laura (Peter), Rob (Barb). Sandy will also be sadly missed by grandchildren Nikola, Ryan, George, Amy, Madison and Zach. Beloved sister of Dan (Marg), the late Dave, and brother-in-law, Ed (late Sue). She shared a special bond with her Aunt Marilyn and cousin Melanie. Sandy was a passionate and dedicated nurse at Hamilton General Hospital for 40 years. She was a cherished member of her sorority Beta Sigma Phi and CGIT. She was known for her kind, caring and compassionate nature. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Special thank you to Dr. Wasi and the team at Juravinski Hospital, and all of the homecare staff, who provided incredible care and support with special thanks to nurse Ashley.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, November 10 from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Port Nelson United Church (3132 South Drive, Burlington) on Monday, November 11 at 1p.m. Reception to follow. Private interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations in memory of Sandy to Juravinski Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
