Passed away with family by his side at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years Rolene Wood (nee James) (2011). Cherished father of Joanne May (Stephen), Donna Woodill (Chuck) and Kimberly Burley (Bill). Proud grandfather of Derek (Victoria), Michael (Kirsten), Stephanie (Wes), Bryan (Sophie), Rachael and Faith, and great-grandfather of Bronwynn, Emersyn, Sawyer, Audrey, Emily and Oliver. Dear brother of Keith Wood and Kenneth Wood. Ron will also be remembered by extended family, nieces, nephews and friends. Private Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 12 noon until the time of a Service of Remembrance which will commence at 1:00pm. Reception to immediately follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron to SickKids Foundation, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or CMHA would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
