Obituary for Robert Barton "Bob" Moulton

Peacefully with his family by his side, Robert (Bob) Moulton passed away in his 84th year on Thursday, November 17th after a courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Beloved husband of Linda for 58 years. Proud father of David (Tracey) and Doug (Sue). Cherished Grandfather of Ben, Alex, Rachel and Natalie. Dear brother of the late Anne Martindale (Ron). Fondly remembered by his extended family members, many dear friends, and wonderful caregivers. Bob made passionate contributions to education and community service throughout his life. He was proactive in modernizing technological education, first as a middle school teacher with the Hamilton Board of Education, then through development of curriculum with the Ministry of Education and finally as a Coordinator of Technical Education with Brock University. Through his sons' participation in hockey, where he helped coach, he became driven to support the growing needs of youth hockey in Burlington, ultimately serving as President. For nearly 50 years, Bob volunteered for numerous roles at East Plains United Church, the past four as treasurer. Recently he teamed up with a small group of volunteers who spearheaded the development of the new EPUC Child Care Center. He enjoyed getting out with the "Silver Sliders" group of golf buddies and curled with a great group of friends at the Burlington Golf and Country Club for 30 years. Bob was an active member of the Probus Club of Burlington Lakeshore for 20 years, where he also served as President. At his request, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation of Canada or Carpenter Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
