Obituary for Robert Earl "Bob" Macaulay

Passed away at United Mennonite Home, Vineland, on Monday, October 28, 2019, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Mildred (nee Thomas) (2001). Loved father of Bryan Macaulay (Marie) and Barry Macaulay (Ann). Cherished grandfather of Lindsay, Brooke, Hanna and Ryan. Predeceased by his siblings William Macaulay and Margarita Todd. Starting his teaching career in the early 1950s, Robert taught in a one-room schoolhouse prior to teaching Elementary school in Hamilton. Never one to stay still, he then moved on to Highschool English. With the completion of his Masters of Education, he spent several years working in Adjustment for the Hamilton School Board, then moved on to Highschool Guidance at Delta Secondary School. Always an avid photographer, Robert took the plunge in 1977, and opened "The Grimsby Camera Shoppe", which continues to thrive through his son, Bryan, as "Village Studio". His retirement years were spent traveling and taking Fine Art photographs, through which his love of photography will live on. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Thursday, November 7, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. where the Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday, November 8, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North and West Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
