Obituary for Robert Alexander Fox

Robert Alexander Fox
1931-2018

At home on December 1st, peacefully in his sleep with Mary at his side, Bobbie went to Jesus and to his eternal home. Loving husband and dearly missed by his devoted wife Mary Winter (nee Summerfield). Predeceased by his first wife Madeleine (1987) whom he shared many special memories with their children, Sandy, Joey and Karen, in the operation and enjoyment of their fishing camp lodge “Lift the Latch” on the French River. Proud grandpa of Lucas, James, Emily, Joseph, Evan and Lauren. Special “Boppa” to Connor and Alisha. Long distance grandpa and stepdad to Pam and Tim Winter and children Ashley, Braden and Amanda in Calgary. Always there for Robert day and night was Sherry Rodgerson with her care and compassion for her stepdad. Robert will be missed by his sisters-in-law, Lois and Grace. Many thanks to the Hamilton General Stroke Unit (2006/2007), St. Joseph’s medical and nursing teams. Also, Dr. Costin and Dr. John Macintyre for their home visits. Further thanks to Robert’s team of PSWs who visited every day with smiles, hugs and stories to share-Gnoc, Kristine, Olga, Christine, Tammy, Penny, Dave, Lynsey, Kim and many more and especially to Mick who saw us through our journey to the very end-we are forever grateful. Robert had great memories of his many friends in and outside of his memorable forty plus years in real estate in Hamilton/Burlington.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, December 4 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, December 5 from 12 p.m. till the start of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. For those who wish, donations in memory of Robert to Hamilton General Stroke Unit, Juravinski Cancer Centre or St. Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
