Obituary for Robert England
ENGLAND, Fredrick Robert (Bob)
Went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 16, 2019 in his 87th year. Best friend and loving husband of Grace England for 63 years and much loved father of Janice (Bill) Thompson, Joanne (Michael) Malone, Bruce (Brenda) England, Barb England, Donna (Wayne) Leung and Debra (Eric) Hilborn. Bob was also loved by his 15 grand-children and 11 great grand-children. Bob was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Frances and Albert England and sisters’ Alice (Alex) Harrison, Kathleen England and Grace England. Bob worked as an Auto Mechanic and Service Manager for many years, at York Auto Sales, Brant AMC and Unique Motors. After retirement Bob and Grace re-located to Bolsover, Ontario working at Fair Havens Ministries for 20 years. Bob greatly enjoyed his time there quietly and joyfully serving in the maintenance area. During these years Bob also discovered his love for woodworking and carefully handcrafted many beautiful pieces for his family. Bob will be remembered by many people he served and positively impacted throughout his life including the many friends he made while playing his trumpet with the Georgina Brass Band. Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington on Sunday, November 24 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held at Compass Point Bible Church, 1500 Kerns Rd., Burlington on Monday, November 25 at 2:00 pm. If desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Partners International for the Alongside International Linda Miclash Children’s Home or Fair Havens Ministries. A special thank you to Dr. Tim Cuddy for his many years of excellent care. The family also deeply appreciates the wonderful staff and volunteers at The Brant Centre Long Term Care home who so lovingly cared for Bob during the past two years.
