Passed away at Juravinski Hospital, on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Lois (nee Grassie) for 62 years. Loved father of Dr. Susan Gowans, the late Kathryn Brooks (Nicholas), Ian Gowans (Marie) and Keith Gowans (Sandra). Cherished grandfather of Anna, Sophie, Matthew, Evan, Abbie and Aidan. Bob dedicated his life to education, his local community, Centennial Park Baptist Church and the Grimsby Rotary Club. He was motivated by his desire to help and guide others. In his spare time, he enjoyed travelling the world and gardening. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday, November 8, 2019, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at Centennial Park Baptist Church, 11 Kennedy Road, Grimsby, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 10 a.m. Interment Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
