BRAGDON, Robert “Bob”
June 25, 1934 – May 31, 2021
Passed away peacefully at his home, with family by his side, on Monday, May 31, 2021 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Bragdon (nee Nixon) in 2005. Bob will be deeply missed by his daughter Cathy (Jo-Ann), son Robert (Carol) and daughter Leslie; granddaughters Stephanie and Nicole (Erik); great-granddaughter Brooklyn; brother-in-law Douglas Nixon (Lou); and long-time fur companion Maddie. He will also be fondly remembered by his dear sister Jean, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Following his retirement from a successful career at Stelco, Bob kept himself busy working part-time, travelling, trips to the Casino, cheering for his beloved Maple Leafs, and of course, bowling. His life-long passion for bowling garnered him more trophies than he could display. Bob also had an avid interest in reading and politics, and would certainly not be shy to share his opinions with anyone who was willing to listen! He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, love for his family, his pets and all animals.
After an unfortunate diagnosis of terminal Lung Cancer, Bob made the difficult and courageous decision to end his life with dignity using the MAID program. We thank all of the doctors involved for their care and compassion during the past weeks and months.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. A Private Interment will be held at White Chapel Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA would be sincerely appreciated.
