Bob passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family at Joseph Brant Hospital on April 21, 2020 at the age of 72. Loving husband to the late Krys (nee Grodzinski) who passed away in 2018. Loving fathering to Marc (Crystal), Matt (Jodie) and Marissa (Michael), cherished grandfather to Mitchell, Addison, Jacob, Kenyon and Mackena, and brother to Betty and Bill (Jenny).

If ever there was a person who defined a selfless family man, it was our Dad. Whether it was coaching football, driving to competitions, volunteering at events or taking the family on vacations, he always made time for his family and provided us with a wonderful life, rich in experience and full of love.

Nothing could make this point better than his dedication to our mom.

Dad was there every step of the way for her. From carrying her up the stairs after her first surgery in 1987 to getting her on an elephant in Thailand, to feeding her during the last months of her life, Bob was always there. Never one to complain, he dedicated his life to caring for, and loving her.

Bob enjoyed company of others. He always welcomed friends and strangers into his home to tip a glass and break bread. Though never one to be accused of being ‘chatty’, he relished the chance to stir the pot especially when it came to conversations about business, religion or politics.

He was the greatest role model any of us could have asked for and we will miss him dearly.

A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Bob to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

To Marc, Matt, Marisa and families....We have a long history with your very precious parents. Krys was in my class since we were 14. As adults who had previously lived in various parts of Canada, we ended up in the same neighbourhood to raise our children in Burlington. Krys and Bob were part of our joyous times and our saddest times, with many vivid conversations over dinners together. When my father-in-law died in 1987, Krys came and held my hand for 3 talking, just being together in comfort. When Krys was a trustee there was no one more involved than both your parents to secure good education for the Burlington community, and we are all the richer for their selfless contributions. A group of us high school friends had lunch with your Mom and Dad in 2017......Little did we know that our friendship landscape would change so soon. We pass on our deepest condolences to each of you and your families. The rich legacies left by both your parents, so supportive in their love for each other, is a tribute to family life at its best. We are deeply saddened with the loss of two beautiful people. Sending each of you and your families virtual hugs. Always in our hearts, Bob and Krys, for sure. Love ...Sharon (Marini) and Tony Buzzelli

To Marc, Matt, ,Marissa,
Your tribute to your Dad was beautiful and perfectly expressed the love you all felt for him . Peter and I came into your parents lives about sixteen years ago and shared social times and the trips to Southeast Asia and the Baltic Cruise, where more than once I held my breath watching your parents navigate the world ,taking on whatever dared to come their way, with humour and sometimes bravery. We all admired them. Sharing your sadness. Maggie and Peter Connor

Hard to believe for me: Krys, Allard and now Bob. I am so sorry, and I know it is difficult to have to delay a service. The obituary is spot on. I have said many times to many people how devoted and caring Bob was to Krys for all those years, and yes, you always felt welcomed when you walked into their house. When they came here I always made sure I had liver wurst on hand for Bob. Love you all. Your memories of your dad will see you through. Margie

Bob left a wonderful impression on me and my staff. He had a vivacious wife Krys who taught us all to laugh at life! Their three wonderful children had great models for life. He had such quiet but determined energy for work! He is an inspiration for his family and the rest of us. Say hi to Krys, Bob, but remember that she'll have that place in stitches! It was great knowing you.
