Obituary for Raymond Dusan Tolnay

TOLNAY, Raymond
September 28, 1977 – November 13, 2020

Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Burlington on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 43. Ray will be deeply missed by his mother Linda of Burlington and father Sean of Elliot Lake. Predeceased by family who loved him, Grandma and Grandpa Dunlop; Grandma and Grandpa Tolnay; and Aunt Marlain. Ray will be fondly remembered by his many cousins, very special friends Juan, Kayla and little Lucy, as well as his best friend and canine companion Masey.

Ray loved learning; he had a Degree in Philosophy and Urban Planning but was always yearning for more. In his 30’s he decided to become a Boilermaker. Being a boilermaker brought him such joy. He loved the feeling of belonging in a brotherhood of friends and faced every new contract as an adventure.

When not working, he loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing and camping. In his 20’s he walked around the province for a month, camping along the way. Such adventures he had.

In keeping with Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Covenant House or Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation (Please specify Community Mental Health Services) would be greatly appreciated.
