Obituary for Norah Clift

CLIFT, Norah. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Norah Clift (nee Cavanagh), in her 101st year. She died peacefully, in her sleep, at Joseph Brant Hospital on Sunday, February 20th 2022. Predeceased (2010) by her husband (George) of 65 years. Norah will be deeply missed by her children Anthony (Pauline) and Susan Ziegerhofer (Franz), grandchildren Catherine Winchell (Chris), Adrienne, Marina Adair (Jake, deceased) and Franz Ziegerhofer (Shannon), as well as great grandchildren Jacob, Owen, Dayton, Charlotte, and Ryan. Survived by her brother Gerard (Isabel). Predeceased by her parents Peter and Barbara (nee Fisher) and 4 siblings (Joseph, Peter, Barbara and Cecelia).
Norah was very proud of serving in the British Army (ATS) in the Second World War. She loved traveling, particularly to Bermuda, UK and Florida. Norah enjoyed walking, the ballet, crosswords, reading and dancing and was a member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. She loved embroidery and in particular stitch work and created some beautiful pieces which will be treasured by her family.
A special thank you to Dr. Garland and the nursing staff of Joseph Brant Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 287 Plains Rd E., Burlington. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 580 Old York Road, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd, Hamilton or Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
