It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Nick De Filippis at the age of 64 on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Beloved husband of 40 years to Anna. Forever missed and loved by his children, Joseph (Winnie) and Victoria (Tyler). Cherished Nonno to Luca, Dante, Oliver and Nico. Loving son of the late Joseph (2019) and Lina (2008) De Filippis and son-in-law of Amalia and the late Vittorio (2016) DiClemente. Dear brother of Frank and Donna De Filippis and brother in law of Lino DiClemente, John and the late Karen (2018) DiClemente and Lora and Chris Cirkon. He is loved by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and the United States.
Nick was born in Hamilton and moved with his parents at an early age to a farm in Fulton. Nick graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and Management and soon started his own businesses, De Filippis Design and De Filippis Developments. Nick's legacy lives on in the countless homes and buildings he has designed and constructed throughout Southern Ontario. Nick loved his work and was always willing to help when he could. Nick lived life to the fullest. He was a lover of the outdoors, a true family man and someone who could make anyone feel like family. As busy as Nick’s life was, he was happiest when he was spending time in Florida with his family and friends. He enjoyed lounging by the pool, smoking a cigar and good conversations with anybody and everyone. His loud and outgoing presence in any room will be missed dearly.
