Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the recent, sudden passing of Nichole-Lyn Gehbauer. A loving and generous person, Auntie “Nick” will be missed dearly by her nieces (Caysanie, Asia and Sophie) and nephews (Elijah, Luke and Lincoln). Over the course of her thirty-four years on the earth, "Neekole" was not only a beloved daughter to her parents, Lyn and Peter, but also a source of many laughs and mischief for her sisters, Monika (Ian), Stephanie, Cherry and Cherise. She is survived by her two fur babies, Bamboo and Bear, who find warmth and comfort in a family home but still look to the window for their mom’s return. She leaves behind uncles, aunts and cousins, whether found nearby or across the seas. She will be remembered fondly by her many good friends, including (but not limited to) Amber Powell, Erika and Elizabeth Godoy (Jean), Michelle Riendeau and Beverley Soloduk.

Nichole was known to make people laugh and loved to spoil her nieces and nephews - who are, and forever will be, the lights of her life.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 3 PM on Sunday, December 1st at Smith's Funeral Home (1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, Ontario). As Nichole was a vibrant individual capable of brightening up a room, we encourage guests to dress in bright, happy colours.

Nichole always sought to lessen the burdens of others. Thus, while flowers are a kind thought, we know that she would prefer for any money spent to be put towards donations to either the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (https://suicideprevention.ca/Donate) or the Canadian Mental Health Association (https://cmhasandbox.microsoftcrmportals.com/en/new-donation/).

Nichole was a dear friend, and for a time in high school we were inseparable. She loved to laugh and always managed to bring people out of their shells.

Her influence lives on in me to this day. I still say certain sayings she made up, and I still use some of her makeup techniques. She was so talented, witty and quick with a joke.

She was my confidante and partner-in-crime and we had many adventures together as girls.

My heartfelt condolences to the Gehbauer family.

Such a heartbreaking loss. I hadn't seen Nichole since high school but, remember her boisterous personality fondly. We had the same first name and same last initial which was often confused on attendance lists. But, she was a much more vibrant person than myself...funny, outgoing, carefree...I was envious of that. I can only hope that my little sons who also live in the sky, have found the one who shares their mom's name and welcomed her with open arms. Rest in peace.

My condolences goes out to The Gehbauer family in this difficult time.
I still can't believe that your gone from this world but you will always be in my heart. We've known each other for over 20 years. You always made me laugh when I was feeling down and you were always there for me when I needed advice on life issues or a shoulder to cry on. You were a wonderful person inside and out with a heart of gold. Always put others first before yourself. I have alot of memories to hold onto and I know you'll be watching over me. I know you're not suffering anymore in heaven

Best friends forever
(Aka Lovey)
❤️Love you always Nichole ❤️
