Obituary for Nadine Diane Labadie (Brown)

LABADIE, Nadine Diane (nee Brown),

Formerly of Burr Ridge, IL, passed away peacefully in Burlington, Ontario on October 13, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Beloved wife of the late Ray B. Labadie (2015). Loving mother of Christina Thorell (Chris). Cherished Grammie of Zach and Carter. Much loved sister of Jeneal Ring (Frank) and the late Gayle Young (Donald Young). Predeceased by her parents Victor and Irene Brown. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews whom she adored, extended family and especially by her cat Blackie, her constant companion for many years.

Nadine was born and grew up in Hamilton where she graduated with honours from Parks Business College. She secured employment with Moores Business Forms in Niagara Falls, New York. She was made an executive secretary and transferred to the Chicago where she met and married her husband Ray. She dedicated herself to her family volunteering in the classroom and for the PTO many years and cooking wonderful healthy meals, and taking her daughter to many activities. She later spent time in real estate, as a medical office administrator and a loving nanny. Whatever she did, Nadine gave 110%. Nadine was very musical and shared her love of piano with her church, often playing in relief society and primary among other callings. She had an amazing sense of style which was evident in her appearance and her beautiful home she loved. She was involved in health and fitness as long as she was able and was dedicated to taking care of her health. She loved spending time with her grandsons, taking them to the neighborhood playgrounds, the movies, or playing cards and board games.

Funeral Service will be held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2366 Headon Road, Burlington, on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Hamilton. In accordance with provincial regulation, there is a limit to the number of guests who may be in attendance. To attend services please RSVP at www.smithsfh.com or call Smith’s Funeral Home between 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. All guests are asked to wear a face mask.
