Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Billings Court Manor, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the age of 89. Father of Jennifer (Rod) Alence, David Boberg, Holly Shiels (Warren Brown), Penny (Cary) Culbertson, Libby Cartwright and Lucy (Jeffrey) Calabretta. Grandfather of Mark, James, Matthew, Chloe, Brody, Charlie, Jillian, Violet and Atticus. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Irene, and siblings John and Sheila.
Michael immigrated from England to Canada where he was a successful entrepreneur; starting his own engineering company that was responsible for the concrete testing of many landmark buildings in Toronto today. In his later years Michael was the proud and successful owner/operator of The Plough and Harrow, a British pub in Burlington, ON. Michael was an avid racing cyclist and could often be found riding his bike with his mates in the Mt. Nemo area. He will be dearly missed for his big smile, quick wit, and dry sense of humour.
As per his wishes, a private cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
