Obituary for Matys de Korte
Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the age of 97. Predeceased by his beloved wife Catharina “Ina” (nee van de Waal). Loved father of Peter (Lu), Walter (Judy), Derek (Nicole) and Catherine (Charles). Cherished Opa of Christopher (Melaina), Michael (Ale), Peter (Caroline), Emily, Matthew (Emanuela), Jennifer (Erik), and Alexander (Allison). Doting great-grandfather of William, Andrew, Olivia, Keanu, Charley, Tristan, Lydia, Alice, Beatrice and Lucy. Brother of Maria, he will be remembered by his extended family in Holland.
Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333) on Tuesday, August 27 from 6 – 8 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 28 at 1 p.m. Interment Burlington Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations in memory of Matys to World Vision, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
