Obituary for Mary Sandra Rideout (Sibley)

RIDEOUT, Mary Sandra (nee Sibley)
Wednesday, April 13, 1938 – Sunday, July 7, 2019

It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Mary Rideout on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Reunited with the love of her life and best friend, husband Jon, who predeceased her in 2010. Mary was a wonderful Mom and Grandma who loved her family with all her heart. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her children - Sandy (Gregg), Jon (Laura), and Judi (Mark). Grandma was immensely proud of her four grandchildren - Scott, Brett, Matt and Dale. She was their biggest fan who celebrated all their accomplishments and enjoyed attending their school events, sports activities, dance recitals and musical performances. Mary will be deeply missed by her brother, Bill Sibley (Lynne) and brother-in-laws Don (Olga) and Bob (Marlene). Loving Aunt to Ken, Karen, Kathy, Kris, Karol, Jennifer, Jodi, Andrea, Jim, Dan, Candice, and Dean. Mary was born and raised in Windsor, ON. She married Jon in 1958 and they moved their family to Burlington in 1962. Their favourite annual family vacation was travelling to Disney World in Florida where they enjoyed many magical times there – and continued to do so even after the kids were grown. Mary was passionate about singing from an early age and music always played a huge part in her life. She was an accomplished pianist with a beautiful soprano voice and was a proud member of the Bach Elgar Choir for over 50 years. She was a kind soul who truly cared about people, loved to connect and engage with everyone she met – friends, neighbours, even strangers.

As an expression of sympathy, the family would sincerely appreciate a donation to the favourite charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at St. Luke’s Church, 1382 Ontario Street, Burlington, ON on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. There will also be a brief reception held in the church hall next door after the service followed by a private family interment.
