Betty passed away peacefully at Owen Hill Care Community in Barrie on Tuesday January 19, 2021, in her 87th year. Formerly of Burlington. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom, in 2010. She was the much loved mother of Cathy (Jeff) and Lisa (Jim) and cherished Nanny to Jamie (Mandy) and Erin Borgmeyer and Mike (Caroline) and Ryan (Zara) Bottriell. She was the beloved sister of Penny Nelligan (Robin) and Aunt Betty to John (Anna), Ryan and Katie (Mike). She is also survived by many cousins, friends and neighbours who greatly enriched her life. She worked in banking and book-keeping, eventually running T.J. Biggs and Associates with her husband. She was very smart and excelled at quiz shows and trivia games. Betty was fun-loving and kind. She cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and genealogy. She was a voracious reader. A good day ended with a novel and a cola on ice. She shared this passion by volunteering for the public library for many years delivering books to people in the community. A private family service will be held later this month. Memorial donations may be made to The Arthritis Society Canada or Huntington Society of Canada.
