Mary Ann Walsh, also known professionally as Ann Kelly Walsh( Artist), passed away peacefully in Burlington on Friday, June 19, 2020 following an extraordinarily courageous battle with ALS.

Daughter of William McDonough Kelly and Elizabeth Ann Paul (both predeceased), she is survived by her husband, Larry, of 53 years, her sons Michael (Vera) and Stephen (Pauline), her grandsons Liam(LYTTMABIT), Jeremy(LYTIAB), Ryan(LYTBAP), and Brooks(LYF), and her sister Patricia Parr (Brian).

Neither the words of the English language nor the skill and competence of the writer is remotely adequate to properly describe the remarkable grace, diversity and magnitude of her personality, skills and accomplishments.

Her love for her family and friends was the most important part of her life.

Those who knew her will understand –those who did not will never know how much they missed.

The world is a poorer place!

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Also according to her wishes, a reception will be held at a later date.

I first met Ann ( & Larry) at a Bridge Class in Burlington Seniors Centre. She taught me a few things about bidding. Subsequently we met at a New Years Day champagne brunch hosted by mutual friends. She discovered I was a writer (amateur) & challenged me to write her a story within a week, so I did. It was called "Mistaken Identity" about how I turned up at her studio to have my portrait painted & finished up as a model in her "life" class. My Writing Group refused to believe my story when I read it to them, so Ann sent me a wonderful painting of a reclining male nude. When I showed this to my class, they never looked at me the same way again.
Thank you Ann for your encouragement. I will never forget you. RIP

Our sincere condolences to Larry, her sons Steve and Mike and family. Ann had such a remarkable spirit that It was impossible to not be affected by it. Her enthusiasm, joyfulness and positive nature were a joy to be around and I valued my time with Ann both as my mentor and then, as my very good friend. Such goods times we had skipping over rocks to get just the right view and that’s how I will remember Ann. Her infectious spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Thank you Ann. Til we meet again my friend❤️

Legends say that Hummingbirds float free of time carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. The Hummingbirds' delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, that personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation.

For many of us Ann was our Hummingbird, touching our lives in a way that only she was able to do.

I will miss you.

Our sincere condolences to Larry, Mike,Steve and families. Ann was a wonderful friend to me over the past thirty years and with her passing I feel like a part of me has gone too. We had so many good times when we travelled to far flung places to paint and so many laughs at things only an artist would appreciate. She was a wonderful artist , instructor and mentor to many new up and coming artists. She lived for her family and was so proud of you all. Personally I will never know how she bore her terrible illness with such grace and humour and the world is a better place for having her in it. Hopefully she is now at peace after a life extremely well lived.
Janet and Mike Parker.
