McCONKEY, Mark Owen
November 19, 1970 – September 9, 2019
Passed away suddenly at his home in Burlington on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 48. Loving husband of Karen McConkey for 15 years. Proud father of Owen McConkey. Dear son of Dennis and Valerie Ann McConkey and brother of Andrew McConkey. Mark leaves behind many extended family members and friends both in Canada, England and Scotland.
Mark was a truly amazing, passionate man who lived life to the full, with a larger than life personality. He loved adventure, travel, table tennis and was a massive superhero fan. His most proudest achievement was his wonderful son Owen and he loved nothing more than playing computer games with Owen in the mancave!
Mark worked for 30 years in the insurance business as a commercial insurance underwriter, which gave him a wealth of knowledgeable and expertise which is now sadly lost to the industry.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 12-1 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at Millcroft Golf Club, 2155 Country Club Dr., Burlington from 2-5 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
