They married in 1952 and built a wonderful life together for their four children. Both Marina and Charlie were of Baltic German descent and the friendships within this community in Canada were an important and cherished part of their lives. For the last 35 years, Marina lived in Huntsville, Ontario. She married Peter in 1995 and together they ran a bed and breakfast and welcomed visitors from around the world. Marina will be remembered as a wise, spiritual, kind, and hardworking mother devoted to her children. Her artistic legacy will endure in the widely-collected stone sculptures that captured her love of nature and wildlife.
A memorial service will be held later this spring or early summer for extended family and friends (details to be provided soon). The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care and attention Marina received at Maple Villa Long Term Care Centre in Burlington, Ontario as she struggled with the decline of dementia following multiple strokes.
