Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Village of Tansley Woods on February 21, 2024, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of 61 years to Franjo Fratric. Dear and loving mother to Biserka Barkovic (the late Ivica) and Frank Fratric (Michelle). Cherished and loving Baka to Ivana Barkovic and Anya Fratric.
Predeceased by her parents Andrija and Ljuba Priselac, her brothers Stjepan, Mijo, and Josip Priselac and sisters Dragica Djumlin, Barica Bedic, and Danica Zaher. Forever in the heart of her only surviving sibling, Ankica Pečnik. She will fondly be remembered by her many nieces, nephews and family in Canada, Croatia, Australia and the U.S.
Marica was a warm-hearted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who brought endless love into the hearts she touched during her journeys from Croatia to Canada. She adored her family, in particular, her 2 granddaughters who were her life.
Her gentle, kind and loving soul was poured into everything she enjoyed; tending to her garden, cooking and family gatherings. We know that her love will continue to radiate beyond this life.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 4 - 9 p.m., Funeral prayers at 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton, on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
