Obituary for Margaret June Baker (Reid)
June 19, 1937 – December 13, 2020
Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, at the age of 83. Beloved mother of Adam Baker and aunt of Jennifer Cairns (Scot Hamilton) and the late Jim Cairns. Special great-aunt to Sarah Hamilton Heise (Jake Heise), Sydney Hamilton and Matthew Hamilton. Dear sister to Mary Cairns (late William Cairns) and the late Alan Reid. Predeceased by parents Sidney and Jennie Reid (nee Nurse).
June was an avid bowler and bridge player in her retirement from many working years at National Trust. Independent, thoughtful and fun-loving, she was always there with a card and a tupperware of squares or a pie for every occasion. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends in Burlington and the GTA and her hometown of Peterborough. Special thanks to her many dear friends who called or sent cards (or soup or Bingo cards) to keep her spirits up.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society in June’s name would be sincerely appreciated.
