Peacefully on Thursday, March 10th in her 98th year. Rita was the much loved and devoted partner to her husband Jack who predeceased her. They enjoyed 54 years of wonderful marriage. Rita was the loving and cherished mother to Chris (Megan), Susan and Neena (Don). Loving grandmother to Gillian, Maia, Jacquie (Melanie), Corrigan and great grandmother to Aspen. Rita will be dearly missed by extended family and many friends. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Millicent, brother Jack and sister Milli. Born on September 12th, 1924 in Blantyre, Scotland, she immigrated to Canada with her family to Hamilton in 1930. On the eve of World War II she met her life partner Jack who subsequently deployed to Europe serving in the RCAF. Upon his return they married and began their lives together. They were a team that set the greatest example as partners and parents. They set up homes in Grimsby, Byron, Stoney Creek and finally in Burlington for 60 years. Mom and Dad were inseparable and travelled the world. Both loved to golf and she was wicked at bridge. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
