Major Marjory Jane (Peddle) Earl
July 9, 1946 - February 27, 2023

Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the age of 76. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on July 9, 1946, Marjory came to Canada at age 19. She studied at The Salvation Army College for Officer Training for two years and then was ordained. Throughout her career, she served in Bermuda, Kenora, Perth, Montreal, Burlington and Vancouver. Marjory’s years as an Officer included pastoring congregations as well as Community and Family Services work and leading a women’s shelter. She had a huge heart for community. Major Marjory retired as an Officer of the Salvation Army after 37 years of service. Post-retirement she continued her service at Burlington Community Church, including a vibrant ministry with the Seniors Group. Marjory was also a gifted soprano soloist, and had a love of singing in choirs.

Beloved wife of Kenneth for 8 years. Loved mother of Solon (Scott) Jagers of Chilliwack, B.C. Dear sister of Pat Cattanach of Lake District, England, and cousin of Florence Towell of Lindsay, Ontario. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, and dear friend Joyce Utman of Burlington, Ontario. Special thanks to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital, 5 North and 7 South.

Visitation at Burlington Community Church of the Salvation Army, 2090 Prospect Street, Burlington on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 12-1pm, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm.
