Obituary

JONES, Lydia Mac Rae
(nee Cameron)

Lydia Mac Rae Jones’s (nee Cameron) life ceased on November 10th, 2019. She leaves to remember her time with us, her daughter Carolyn Louise Davidge and Larry and their children Drew and Hailey, her son Jay Cameron Jones and Barbara and children Katrina and Clayton as well as 4 great grandchildren, Owen, Lucy, Blake and Parker. Lydia was fortunate to have had many friends over her lifetime who will think kindly of her time with us. She was the former Executive Director of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and prior to that was Policy Director of the Hamilton and District Chamber of Commerce. Her Chamber work all began when she was the secretary for the Ontario and Hamilton Jaycees. Lydia was past president of the Zonta 1 Club of Hamilton and held positions in various business and community organizations. Lydia has asked that if you wish to remember her, do so with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do, she will live in our hearts forever. Flowers and donations are gratefully declined. A private family graveside burial of her ashes will take place in the spring.

I met Lydia at Roberta Place Lodge , I was her PSW and I got to spend 2 days a week seeing her. We formed a bond . She was such a wonderful caring lady. She made me smile and I think her smile too. When she was having bad day , we would hug and that made things better. I was sad and shocked to hear of her passing . My thoughts and hearts go out to you and your family. I will miss her .

I met Lydia a few months ago we spent Monday and Wednesday afternoons together at Roberta Place. She brought so much joy to me Lydia wanted to do something special for the holiday season the two of us spent time gathering items for a special project for children in Africa. She did this in honour of her 4 great grandchildren- thank you Lydia for the memories you gave me in the short time we spent together I will never forget the laughs the cry’s and the long walks we shared. Rest In Peace I will miss you.
