Loved mother of Shireen Whitmore (Bill Houston) of Ajax, Stevan Whitmore (Lena Nashook) of Iqaluit, Tracy Burnett (Larry) of Burlington.

Cherished grandmother of Erica, Graeme, David, James, Cassandra, and Brandon.
Great grandmother to Evelyn “Salem”, Ariel, Daniella, Nanuraq, Jaeden, Mason, Rose, Nanauq.
Dear sister to Gary Kelly (Josie) of Manitoba, Norma Tanguy-Boucock (Yvon Tanguy) of Krimpen ann de Lek, Bertha Benschop-Boucock of Capelle aan den Ussell.

Auntie to Sherrie (Justin Van Dyk), Michael, Guy (Judith), Francois, Norman, David, and Kevin.

Sister-in-law of Clare Whitmore of Peterborough.

On her own at 16 after graduating high school early, married at 17, survived terminal cancer over 15 years with some spontaneous remission. She enjoyed so many things, being a teaching assistant for children with learning challenges, scuba diving, travelling, gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting, family feasts, singing and dancing with the love of her life. She said although dad was a tall/ large man he was so light on his feet. Together again they can dance amongst the stars, always smiling.

The family has chosen for an intimate gathering later in the year when they can be together.

Donation to the Cancer Society of Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Associate would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

From Desiderata

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
