Peacefully, at Joseph Brant Hospital, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the age of 91. Devoted husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Ruth Norton (nee Franklin) in 2015. Pre-deceased by his parents, Fredrick and Vera (nee Burton), and his siblings Ruth, Joyce, Burt, Carol & Vivienne. Patient and loving father to Blake (Susi) and Brett (Nicole & Michael), cherished grandfather to Jennifer, Edward, Sharon, Theianne, Matthew and Christopher, and great-grandfather to Andrew and Rylan. Greatly missed by his niece, Penny, in Winnipeg. Dedicated to his wife and family, with a strong work ethic. Possessor of a quick wit, awesome sense of humour, an endless series of puns, and a marvelous singing voice. Lloyd met Ruth at a church picnic, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and they fell in love, dating for 6 years, before tying the knot. They had just celebrated their 61st Anniversary, at the time of her passing. Lloyd worked at English Electric, with his brother Burt, for several years, and then changed jobs, working at Bell Canada for 35 years, until his retirement. After retiring, Lloyd and Ruth enjoyed their home and garden, grand children, golfing and some travelling with friends for golf and other outings. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and PSWs at Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and assistance. As per Lloyd’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. Private family interment.
