MORIARTY, Lawrence Daniel “Larry”

Passed away unexpectedly in San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 28, 2020 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of 53 years of the late Carmelle Moriarty (May 7, 2019). Loving father of Eric Moriarty (Becky) and Karen Puklic (Dennis). Cherished grandfather of Claire, Scott and Olivia. Dear brother of Pauline Baker (Nelson), Elizabeth Johnston (the late Harold) and Theresa Moriarty.

He will be fondly remembered as a gentleman who was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and family. He had a great passion for his job as an Engineer and loved to travel. He also loved telling jokes and his jolly chuckle would often be even funnier than the punchline.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 4-7pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Brant Street at Blairholm, Burlington on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Larry to The Heart and Stoke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated.

Our condolences to Eric and Karen and their family for the loss of father and grandfather.
We worked and communicated with Larry over a period of 44 years. We lost a true friend.
As an employee Larry was well organized, reliable, a pleasant person to work with and a true professional. As a friend, he was loyal, thoughtful, joyful and fun to be with.
After retirement, Larry and Carmelle spent many winters in southern USA touring in their fifth wheel and enjoyed a relaxed life with friends they made throughout the years.
Larry was proud of his children and grandchildren and we know he hoped to spend many more years to see them grow and develop.
