The last few days, I've been remembering Laura. She was the reason for so many of my fondest and funniest memories of my years at the C.A.C.C.. When you work together on a platoon for a long time, your platoon members become a second family. In the wee hours of the morning, we would tell the stories of our lives and she would have us all in stitches with some of her tales. I'm thinking too about the insanely busy times when I was so glad she was there, as she always did her utmost to ensure every patient got the help they needed and made the safety of her crews a top priority. Every single time I needed her to step up and do the work of 3 or 4 people, she rose to the occasion.

This is a truly tragic and terrible loss. Laura did her best to make the world a happier, better, safer place. She was so full of life, I just can't believe that she is gone.

Rest in Peace Laura. I will forever hold fond memories of you in my heart.

I am at a loss for words..
Laura was an amazing mother, and I have always thought of Savannah as my second daughter, and I will never forget Foxwood. Although we lost touch over the last 10 years.. both of you have always in been in my thoughts.. My heart goes out to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing Laura.
Rest in peace Laura, you will be missed.

I was Laura’s preceptor when she was a Paramedic student with the District of Halton and Mississauga Ambulance Service out of the Oakville station in the early 90’s. Laura was an excellent student. Laura was very keen to learn and very kind with all of the patients. I have fond memories of her bringing James to the station to see the ambulance and I remember how proud she was showing him the tools of her new trade. When she was hired at CACC soon after, we still kept in touch. She was always looking out for her crews and was an excellent ACO with a knack for shifting through the noise to get to the real issue of the callers.
We enjoyed camping trips with our family and her daughter Savanna. Many backyard parties, pig roasts and dinners were also enjoyed. She was kind with our kids and there were many fond memories that may have included a beverage or two....
Yes, the air will be different without your familiar voice.
RIP Laura.
