Obituary for Khanh Le

LE, Khanh

Khanh Le passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the age of 59.

She was born September 11, 1960 in Huế, Vietnam to her mother, Tuyen Thi-Thanh Truong, and her late father, Man Dinh Le. Khanh was known for her compassion and selflessness. At a young age, she raised her three brothers, Huy, Chuong, and Khoa, and her two sisters, Diem Khanh and Lan Khanh. She faced countless hardships as she escaped war-torn Vietnam by boat before obtaining Canadian landed immigrant status in 1983.

In Canada, she continued to dedicate her life to helping others as a Registered Nurse. She has had a profound impact on the patients that she cared for as well as her work family at Shalom Village Long-Term Care where she has worked for over 15 years. Professionally, Khanh was recognized as an incredibly hard worker, mentor, and confidant.

She is the loving and devoted mother of Matthew Bui and Vivian Bui (Kyle Slade). She sacrificed a great deal to ensure the success of her children. She is predeceased by her late husband, Tai Bui. Khanh had a passion for music and nature. She brought joy to others as a guitarist and singer. Khanh spent many days tending to her garden and adventuring outdoors.

Khanh will be remembered fondly for her resilience and kind heart and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 6-9pm to celebrate her life. The family requests that visitors dress in colour to honour her vibrant spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Khanh’s memory to Diabetes Canada and Immigrants Working Centre would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
