Obituary for Kerry Lentz

The family of Kerry Francis Lentz is tremendously saddened to announce his passing on June 11, 2023, at the age of 68.

Kerry is predeceased by his father Frank Lentz and Mother Mary (nee Blondeau), as well as his older brother John Lentz (Janet). He is survived by his daughter Kristen Lentz-Cousins (Bradley) and son Kasey (Courtney), who he felt were his greatest achievements. He was a proud Pappa to grandchildren Felix and Roxanne Cousins. Kerry is also survived by his loving sister Mary-Jo Lentz (Rodger Donaldson). He will be greatly missed by nieces Elizabeth, Lisa and Melissa, nephews Bristien and John, and his cousins and friends, many of whom have been life long companions.

Kerry graduated from Burlington Central High School, where he was a great athlete, especially in football. He then earned a degree from McMaster University. His career started with the Toronto Dominion Bank, and eventually he transitioned to a role with Manulife Financial as an Insurance Representative. In this role, Kerry felt very satisfied to be able to help people with their financial security. Later, he drove a courtesy shuttle for Leggat Pontiac-Buick and very much enjoyed interacting with the clients. Kerry also volunteered for many years at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital.

Kerry was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan, and greatly admired “Mr. Hockey”, Gordie Howe. He was an ardent and proficient golfer, even achieving a hole-in-one, and enjoyed many games with his brother, son, and friends. His love of Disney was unmatched, and he made many trips there with his family and friends. For his 60th birthday, with his daughter, Kerry achieved the pilgrimage of all four parks in one day.

Kerry was a quiet, observant, and patient person, but one who usually had everyone in stitches with his dry sense of humour. He always looked for the opportunity to make a joke, laugh, and spread joy to others.

Kerry was struck with an unknown neurological condition that made his life difficult in his later years. His friend Bob Primeau was a great support to him during this difficult time.

Kerry will be terribly missed by us all.
