Obituary for Kathleen Mary Helena "Kath" Bryant

Kathleen Mary Helena Bryant (nee Lewis) passed away peacefully on August 25, 2022 at the age of 96, predeceased by her husband Ken.

Kath will be missed by her three sons Peter (Pat), Alan (Lanie), Andrew (Carol), her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Kath was born in Penarth, Wales and enjoyed an idyllic childhood there with her two brothers John and Dave.

She was a WW2 veteran, joining the ATS ( Auxiliary Territorial Service) and served in London and Scotland in 1944/45.

Following WWII, Kath and Ken married and moved to Canada to start their new life together.
They initially lived in Toronto and later moved to Winnipeg and then to Hamilton.
After moving back to Wales in the mid-fifties they moved back to Canada in 1963.

Kath was employed for many years at Adam-Clark in Hamilton, and always looked back fondly at her time there. She also worked with Carol at Bryant’s Pet Grooming in Burlington for 15 years.

Kath was a long-time resident of Burlington and was very active in the Weaving Guild at the Burlington Arts Centre. She was very well read, a talented artist, and always enjoyed her poetry and Shakespeare. Kath was very well travelled, having been all over Canada, The United States, Europe, the Cayman Islands and Russia.

But her heart always remained in her native Wales, where some of her ashes will be placed.
"We'll keep a welcome in the hillside", an ode to South Wales, was her favourite song.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Elliott (Guelph) and Allendale (Milton) for the care and concern they showed Kath in her later years.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on October 1, 2022 from 12- 1p.m., where the Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on October 1, 2022 at 1p.m. Reception to follow Service of remembrance from 1:30p.m. to 3:30p.m. Flowers would be appreciated by the family.
