Condolence From: Douglas and Gilda Garland
Condolence: Uncle Grant always showed great interest in his extended family, even making an eventful road trip to New Brunswick when he was about 85 years old, for his nephew-in-law’s swearing in as a New Brunswick Provincial Court Judge. Unfortunately, he had a car accident near Fredericton, but I got the call to “rescue” him. He was a bit shaken up and the car was totaled, but I will never forget the time and memories we shared that day, and his determination to attend the swearing in service. He had a brilliant mind and wonderful sense of humor and kept up on current events until his final days. My wife and I visited with him this past April and he was still receiving and reading every article in the Miramichi Leader. He was really hoping to make one more visit to his beloved Miramichi this summer. Gilda and I extend our sincere sympathy to Susan, Stephen, Sarah and Hannah. Douglas Garland

Condolence From: Christopher Johnston
Condolence: We have so many fond memories of our Uncle Grant. Always a gentleman, so kind to all of us, even as little kids we remember his great laugh and sense of humour. You could always count on Uncle Grant to be the one to ask about and remember where you were living, what you were doing over the years - with a lot of love, respect and kindness. We'll miss him. Our condolences to Susan, Steve and daughters, and extended family and friends. Chris Johnston / Susan Wheeler (Ottawa)
