Obituary for John Wayne O'Brien

It is with heart felt sorrow that we announce the passing of an amazing husband and father John “Wayne" at the age of 75. Wayne will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Joan of 50 years, his sons Tim (Erin), Dan, Sean (Kiera), Wes (Sara), his adoring grandchildren Charlee, Tia, Kinsley, Maxwell and Mya, his sister Barb Jewett (Mac) and all his loving nieces and nephews Tracy, Cori, Lara, Rachel, Stephen, and Aaron who have found memories of there uncle Wayne. Wayne was a member of the R.C.A.F. reserves, he played briefly for the Ottawa Roughriders in the 60’s. He was a Chemical Engineering Technologist for many years in Ottawa and Alberta. Upon returning to Ontario he worked as a Supervisor at Canada Post until his retirement. He loved all form of sports especially hockey, lacrosse, baseball and football. He cherished every moment watching his sons play various sports. He was an avid gardener and nature enthusiast where he spent many hours walking all his dogs (Sammy, Kyo, Kodi and Duke) through the years. There will be no visitation due to Covid-19. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
