It is with great sadness that the family announces John's passing at his home, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of JoAnn for 53 years. Loving father of the late Christopher Walsh (2009). Also, loving father of Carmen and her husband Michael Lampman. Much loved brother-in-law of Ken Herrington (Paula), Betty Robinson (Dale) and Lana Sykes (Jerry). Dear uncle of Ryan, Leah, Mandy, Leslie, Craig, Erin, Christie, and Jennifer. He will also be missed by grand nieces and nephews. John will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He retired from a successful career leading Sling-Choker Manufacturing Ltd., Hamilton. John served on numerous industry boards and committees during his career. He was a long time Habs fan and enjoyed spending time with family at the cottage.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 10:30am. Reception to follow.
