Obituary for John Vanderweide

John Vanderweide was born on August 07, 1962 to Jan Vanderweide and Cornelia Vanderweide (nee Wiggemans) in Deventer, Holland. John is survived by his wife, Christine (Huelma), son Brent and many loving family members and friends. Raised as the youngest child of 5 boys. He is also survived by his 4 brothers Hans (Emily), Will, Peter (Darlene) and Paul (Linda) and their families. Fondly remembered by his brother and sisters -in-law Faith (James), Galilee (Larry), Kathy (Derek), Rhoda (Renshen) and their families as well as family and friends of Christine in the Philippines. John loved to play guitar, and in fact was the lead guitarist of a musical band. He and Christine also loved to sing Karoake. John was introduced to Christine Huelma, by his brother Hans, through Rhoda Chen (Huelma) while attending a Newcomer program with his wife Emily. John spent most of his working life as a Machine Operator at the RockTenn packaging company in Burlington. He worked there for over 35 years until the company closed its operation. Since then John enjoyed his time being a driver for Uber.
John passed away peacefully on August 14, 2019 at the Carpenter Hospice
after a short battle with cancer. The family suggests sending memorial contributions to:
