It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John in Hamilton on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the age of 53. Predeceased by his parents Anna and John Selsek. Beloved husband of Rosa (nee Eramo) for 26 years. Loving and proud father of Johnny and Victoria. Much loved brother of Mary Bartens (Walter), Ann Rosati (Joe), Helen Selsek (Dave Robertson) and Kristina Williamson (Bill West). Dear brother-in-law of Anna Pellizzari (Rino), Tania Eramo-Masoudi (Moe Masoudi) and Amedeo Eramo (Daniela). John will be dearly missed by mother-in-law Rita Eramo (the late Domenico), and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for fishing and love of cars. John loved to ski and could put a smile on anyone’s face with his good sense of humour. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 3-5 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Parkway North, Hamilton on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
