LAWSON, John Ross -
Passed away peacefully at home with family by his side, on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the age of 95. Predeceased by loving wife Rachel “Mabel” (nee McCartney) for 69 years. Cherished father of John “Robin” Lawson, Margaret “June” Sadowsky (Alan), and David Lawson (Sarah), and father-in-law of Kelly Lawson. Proud grandfather of Crystal Brogan (Scott), Stuart Lawson (Stewart), John Lawson (Natosha), Carolyn Sadowsky, and Hilary Sadowsky (David Pomeroy), and great-grandfather of Melanie Brogan, Addison Lawson and Charlie Lawson. Predeceased by parents Janet (nee Ross) and John “Jack” Lawson, and siblings Mary Chadwick (late Dick) and Janet “Etta” McHardie (late Ian). John will also be missed by many extended family, friends and neighbours. Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, PSW’s and caregivers for their kindness and support over the last few months. John was a passionate design engineer in aircraft manufacturing for DeHavilland for 26 years, and previously with AVRO on the Arrow. He also authored and self-published the book “Nature’s Logic”. As per John’s wishes, Private Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4-7pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations in John’s memory to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
