Obituary for John Dann

John Dann, born June 28, 1972, passed away suddenly at home on November 2, 2020.

John was a husband, father, son, uncle brother and a friend. He was devoted to Emily, his daughter; his son Adam; and his loving wife Jackie. John leaves behind his mother, Sharon Dann; brother; and family, Jim, Karina, Liam and Autumn Dann; mother and father-in-law Lois and Brian Livingston; and brother and sister-in-law, Shane Webber and Kimi Ihara.

John’s greatest joy was his daughter, Emily Dann. He loved spending time with his family, whether it was playing games, making people laugh, or playing the Devil’s advocate. Of course we can’t forget to mention his devotion to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and his frustration every year of watching them lose. John had a big presence, and enjoyed giving back to the community. He was very proud of his Buddy Bench projects around Burlington. He wore his heart on his sleeve and wasn’t afraid to show his emotions.

One of John’s greatest traits was being a big dreamer with large aspirations for the future. One of his last desires was to bring his family to the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort. John often reminisced of the greatest vacation he and his wife had been on.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. We would like to think of John reconnecting with his father and his best friend Buddy, our dog. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Juravinski Cancer Centre. A short service was held for the immediate family.
